in the United States. It is a suburb of Allentown, Pennsylvania,
in the Lehigh Valley area of the state.
The population of Washington Township was 6,588 at the 2000 census.

Clean Up Day
Township clean up will be held on June 2rd, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Items that will be accepted are old furniture and trash. Items that will be recycled are white goods, metals, electronics, and tires. We also accept old batteries, which are used to offset the purchase of batteries for Township equipment. Like prior years, each household is allowed four tires and any additional tires are $1.00 a piece. Large truck or tractor tires are $5.00. Tires should not have rims. There will be a $15.00 charge for removal of freon. Electronics will be accepted with fees. No construction material will be allowed, this would include insulation, plaster board, etc. This will be the only clean up for the year and it is not known, at this time, if there will be other fees involved with collection. There will be a charge of $25.00 for every mattress accepted. Starting in April the Township will be open to drop off yard waste on Saturdays between the hours of 8am – 12pm.
Ordinance #73 requires mandatory recycling for all residents and businesses/manufacturers of Washington Township to recycle materials below. Recyclable materials can be comingled and collected curbside by your designated trash hauler.

Northern Valley Emergency Medical Services, Inc. (NOVA)
is a community focused non-profit volunteer and career ambulance service
that provides emergency medical services to North Whitehall, Washington, Heidelberg and portions of Lowhill Townships and the Boroughs of Slatington and Walnutport.
2018 Subscriptions will be mailed out at the end November. We are the emergency medical service provider for Washington Township. Your subscription and donation provide NOVA with the necessary support to continue providing exceptional quality emergency care. Money raised through subscriptions is used to meet operating costs, purchase equipment and train staff.
Your subscription provides you and family members residing in your household with the peace of mind that your share of the ambulance bill will be lower. You will also receive a discounted rate for non-emergency transports, wheel-chair van service and any other services not covered by your insurance plan.
